Child Abduction in the Spotlight

The Challenge

reunite is the leading UK charity specialising in international parental child abduction.  It provides advice, information and support to parents, family members and guardians who have had a child abducted or who fear child abduction.  AVT were engaged by reunite's agency, Green Carnation Productions, to produce a training programme, aimed at law professionals, to highlight the legal issues surrounding the incidence of child abduction.

The AVT Solution

Working closely with both the end client and their agency, AVT provided a full service, from pre-production planning and logistics, to technical direction and post-production.

A multi-camera studio shoot of a panel discussion featuring industry experts and advisors formed the backbone of the programme.  This was vision mixed live, which enhanced the immediacy of the end product, but there were also iso-recordings so that some shots could be dropped back in if necessary.

The panel discussion was punctuated by a fictional court case and interviews with high profile legal representatives including Baroness Scotland and Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, as well as key figures from the police and customs services.  Location shoots took place at Heathrow Airport, Hampstead Police Station and the reunite offices.  

The re-enactment of a court case was staged and filmed at the Royal Court of Justice and Professor William Duncan, Deputy First Secretary of the Hague Conference contributed to the programme via a telephone interview.

The Results
