'Let There Be Light'

The Challenge

Rayner Intraocular Lenses Ltd has been a regular AVT client for over 10 years. The company has been the pre-eminent developer of intraocular lenses since 1949, when it designed and produced the world's first ever perspex intraocular lens (IOL).  AVT was commissioned to produce a new video programme 'Let There Be Light', which journeys through Rayner's corporate history, and the development of the IOL, from its original to its current form.

The AVT Solution

AVT's production team worked closely with Rayner in the development of the script and direction of the programme, which involved multi-location shoots, filming in sterile and hospital environments, including eye operations. Steadicam and tracking equipment were used to capture the fluidity of the manufacturing process. The finished programme included animated graphics and voice-over recording.

The Results

Subsequently AVT have produced or revised other Rayner programmes. The projects have comprised re-purposing existing source material, integrating client-supplied materials, filming new footage, re-editing of programmes and multiple voice-over recordings, as well as providing video copy runs on a frequent basis.
