The Challenge

The Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP) is part of the British Psychological Society. Occupational psychology is concerned with the psychology of work. The profession aims to apply the science of psychology to work (and sometimes non-work) in order to promote the well-being and functionality of people and organisations.

DOP wanted to design and launch an external facing website to promote the business benefits of applied occupational psychology to potential buyers and specifiers of its members products and services. It contracted AVT to design a front end to the website, seeking a fresh, clean but consistent design in line with its corporate identity, together with a template for organising information on the site in a way that was user friendly and easy to navigate.

The AVT Solution

AVT submitted two initial designs for approval, progressing one of them to finished state which it passed across to the IT team at the BPS, together with relevant site assets and design files. After developing the site and populating it with information, www.pow-bps.com was launched as a portal for occupational psychology in the UK.

The site offers a variety of features, including an explanation of practice areas, case study examples and an FAQ section, which are designed to explain precisely what occupational psychology is, how it works and where to find it. The site also has two searchable databases and an extensive linking programme.

The Result

The British Psychological Societies subsystems administrator was delighted with the outcome, and also went on to book AVT for event production for an awards ceremony in London.
