What does your company do?
AVT provide consultancy, design, and production for live events and media programmes. We help our clients keep internal and external communications engaging, meaningful, and cost effective. Our Events Team offers everything required to stage all types of live events including conferences, awards, launches, and roadshows. We also provide Audio Visual equipment for hire. On the media side, our studios offer full facilities for webcasting, streaming, corporate video, and multimedia production.
When was your company started up?
AVT was established in Brighton 30 years ago, initially as a sound studio. Now we have branches in Brighton, Truro, and London, which has recently relocated to much larger premises in Canary Wharf.
Who are your main clients?
We work with a diverse range of clients including Brighton Festival, Facilitate and Abbott Laboratories, BUPA International, The Canary Wharf Group, Newsquest Publishing, Royal and SunAlliance, The Bank of New York, and Reuters.
What is the nature of your workforce?
AVT employ 19 permanent staff and have two directors and non – executive directors to keep us in check!
Is Sussex an attractive place for employers, if so what are its good points?
I have always worked in Sussex and really love it. Sussex offers a huge pool of creative and technically talented people and this is a tremendous boon to companies like AVT. It is possible to achieve a good work / life balance and I think this helps employers find happier and more productive staff. There are not many places in the UK where you can quickly escape to the countryside or the beach after a days work.
What do you look for in potential employees?
Our employees must be creative, motivated, have good technical ability and attention to detail. People who enjoy their work and have the ability to build good relationships with clients and colleagues are always top of our list!
